Sports Day was combined with Healthy Schools Award Day at Jonathan, Rosie and Eve's School.
It was a day of unexpected sunshine, and a day of fun and friendship and smiles.
It was a day of games, dance and Climbing????
A Tree Surgeon was high in the branches of the trees on the periphery of the school Field, many of us were concerned that they continued with their chain saws whilst the children played on the field....yes the branches were falling the other side of the tree but the sawdust and leaves and smaller bits of twigs were flying across the field. Many eyes gazed upwards in awe of this seemingly fearless man high up in the branches....a small person familiar to many of you was quite impressed!
The afternoon passed in a flurry of pom poms and bean bags and Kwik Kricket.
There is apparantly a new contender for the 2o12 Olympics termed by our wonderful Headmaster:-
The Gard* School Frog lobbing Contest!
All too soon the hands of the clock were forcing us to consider rushing off on the other school runs. Eve was by now too tired to take anymore and so we whisked her off out her chair and into the car to come home. She was asleep before we left the school drive and still is!
Once home it was time to consider the food to have ready for Rosie and tidying away the remnants of the unrosie friendly morning activities. The Bus came before I could retrieve the washing from the line so Rosie came in for her tea. She was still giggling had been since she escaped her bed and found her way to us upstairs at 4.30 this morning. She ate her tea and then sat on the Sofa outside on the Deck...yes we have a leather settee on our deck...upper class garden furniture...I took the opportunity to collect the washing form the line...David arrived home with Joshua and finished the holes for the drains of our bedroom then rushed off to take the Core Drills back to the hire shop before 5 pm. Christina and I finshed taking the washing off the line and hung out the last bits. Rosie was being a pickle getting into mischief wherever she could and then settled on the settee again with her basket of bricks. As David and Joshua came home Christina and I went in to fold the washing...two minutes later I asked Joshua to check Rosie, David was nearer the door and popped his head out, a split second later he exclaimed loudly and reached for his camera, I was alerted something wasnt quite right and moved towards the door as he took aim upwards.....There on the roof of Jonathan's room was Rosie! Giggling as she scurried up the slates to sit on the ridge....I guess she was just proving that Tree Surgeons are wimps she was much better at climbing without the benefit of ropes!!!!!
Life in our house....it's never boring!
