Maybe Some Answers for Jonathan

Well I am not quite sure why Miss Seceratary was so worried about talking to Mr H, the Neurologist. He arrived on the war around 4pm just as David Joshua and Christina did. He was lovely, very open and very quickly relised our depth of understanding and spoke to us as equals explaining the odd bits we didnt quite understand and talking with us not at us. I told him he was much nicer than his seceratary had led me to believe, he laughed at this.
Before he arrived I had learnt from one of the nurses that Jonathan's 24 hour ECG Tape, which had been rather less than 24 hours and rather disjointed as Jonathn kept trying to take it off, howevr it had shown 6 second burst of tachycardia. This would be enough to cause him some light headednes and could point to the reasons for his collapses. The cardiologists have therefore starte himn on a drug to regulate his heart beat.
The Neurologist therefore did not want to even begin to think about treating him or even testing further for neurology problems as we would have no way of knoing whether the heart drug or the neurology drug was helping.
So Jonathan has come home with his new tablet. We have a review with Crdiology in 6 weeks and will recieve a neurology appointment for 1-2 months. Meanwhile we just pry this was the answer and nothing else is happening and we will be rid of these spells for good!
There is tiny part of me that wishes they had gone on to use an implanted recorder so that we could have caught an episode on tape and know for sure if there was a period of tachycardia preceding it. However I wil settle for not seeing another one at all!
Thanks for all the prayer during his stay, The staff on Cardiac Care unit were very good with Jonathan and very supportive of us. The men who were with Jonathan to start with were great with him too. We wish them all the very best in their adventures at Glenfield. Steve, Mitch, Phil and the other Steve.
Tom and Martin we wish you well too and the newest guys in there I hope you both get well very soon.
So all home, the nest is full again for a little while. Tuesday we head off to Sheffield again with Eve, so many difficult questions to ask and news to hear and plans to make. We feel very blessed in the team we have caring for her over there, each one of them gives us the impression that she matters to them. It is very comforting.
Today we have tried to have a more normal Saturday than ones of late, a trip to a garden centre, Jonathan went out with his carer and Iris took me and Christina shopping whilst David and another carer held the fort at home. WOuld be perfect if only the sun would shine with a little warmth. Monday is Mid Summers Day...the nights will start drawing in from Tuesday onwards!
