There is a gadget on my side bar now for you to nominate other or my blog. I am rather clueless in these things and dont even know what it is all about but am rather flattered someone should take the effort to nominate me particularly as I haven't had an opportunity to blog in such a long time.
So as a thank you a rapid catch up blog.
Eve has been having some difficulties with her breathing, but thanks to New Life Charity, Activate, and some very special people in those organisations, alerted to our situation by the school secretary she now has a super lie flat wheelchair that has allowed us to enjoy this fantastic weather we have been having, we have been out shopping, visiting the park, managed to visit Eve's birth parents and enjoyed a lovely day with a picnic at the National Trust's Clumber Park. An opportunity to build memories we would not have been able to do otherwise.
Rosie seems to be at last shaking off the chest infection that has dogged her for almost 3 months. She is flitting between suber happy and irritable at the moment. The happy is outweighing the irritable and the irritable is not enough or persistent enough to be seizure. I wonder if the heat has been getting to her, we did reach 27 here yesterday.
Jonathan has enjoyed the good weather, he has had two days out with his carer to the seaside, he has at last managed to get on the penny slot machines he has been asking for since we came home last year! He also managed some rides I think. We heard from SENSE a week or so ago and Jonathan and Rosie have both been offered a week in Rosslinton Forest at the begining of the summer. This we hope will allow us to take Christina and Eve away for a break, another opportunity to build memories. Joshua will stay at home with a carer as he will hopefully be training with his dog by then.
Which leads me on to Joshua himself. School situation is not good. LEA have refused to fund a place at the Specialist school for the blind, so we have had to start a SEND appeal.
Meanwhile Joshua has been out with the Mobility officer from Guide Dogs for the Blind and has proved himself to know his routes, be sensible about road crossings and take critisism well.
We now have to hope and pray a suitable dog becomes available for him to train with it during the Summer School Holidays. Any prayer would be appreciated here!
Finally Christina. Christina has grown up so much in recent months, all the added difficulties of being a 12 year old girl in todays society with all the usual growing up things going on. Added to her role as a hands on carer to her siblings, her determination to do everything to her best ability and getting upset and cross and tearful when that doesn't mean perfection. I see much of myself in her particularly her frustration when people dont see things from her point of view.
We have managed to get her to a friends for a day and to have a different friend out with us for a day, I think she was happy with both.
So our life carries on in it's usual format. Ensuring we try to make every day count, enjoying the opportunities for fun and laughter and getting through the rest with love and prayer.
So grateful to the many family and friends who do uplift us in prayer daily.
I need to work out how to sort photographs through the Apple Mac I can't seem to get that right.
