Id Like To Introduce You

To Callum

This is a picture of Callum a little over a month ago.

Yes he is a little boy who has some severe disabilities.But most of all he is a little boy who is happy, contented, smiley and those eyes are full of mischief.

This next picture is taken a month later.

A little boy tormented by intense pain. Pain that is only lessened by heavy duty pain relief and pain that breaks through that relief long before another dose can be given.

A little boy who still tries to take part in the festivities of Christmas but whose eyes now lack that mischief and whose face crumples in pain as the next wave takes over.

I'd like you to pray for Callum, for his brother Connor who is trying to celebrate his birthday not really understanding why his brother cannot come home, nor why his Mum has to spend so much time in a hospital miles from home. A little boy who has voiced his fears that his brother may not come home.

I'd like to ask you to pray for the hospital staff.
For compassion, for listening skills to listen to what Mum is saying and hear both the spoken and the unspoken pleas of a Mother who can tell the little nuiances that speak louder than the cries of her son.
For Nurses who can bring pain relief when it is needed without a constant need for badgering.
For the medical team to work together, to have lead person who can control and check that things are being done. For compassion amongst the doctors who are examingin and testing. for wisdom to look for the right things, for vision to see what is not so apparant.
Oh God we pray you will give these medics and nurses and all involved the wisdom to help Callum.
We pray also for peace. For Callum, for Jane his mum for Conor his brother, and for all who know and love this little boy.
Praying to see that smile and mischief back very soon.
Callum we love you. Jane we Love you too and we so want to help. Want to wrap our arms around your whole family and bring you some comfort.
