Where does the time go?

The days are just skimming by. It seems such a short time ago Joshua and Christina were tiny toddlers frustrated by the tasks they wanted to achieve themselves and did not want help for.
I do it mine own self. Joshua would cry!
Christina was always an independant little tyke, often achieving quite complex tasks and accomplishing them for others too. Her dyspraxia and auditory processing problems making tasks physically more difficult and instructions so hard to follow yet her sheer determination carried her through.

Joshua was alwas the more placid of the too, once the frustration was overcome he was often happy with his own company and very inventive with Lego and pen and paper. Thomas the Tank engine and his Brio train set would occupy him for hours.

Now they are growing up developing their own personalities and overcoming different frustrations. Joshua stil the more placid, taking most things in his stride, coping with the frustration and anxiety of his deteriorating vision mostly without a fuss. Howevr he has been angry with staff at school who repeatedly forget to enlarge things for him, or who dont "get" that he cant see the board etc. Despite his difficulties Joshua is achieveing well. Reaching his targets in most subjects and earning praise and admiration from many of his teachers.

Christina is seeming to find growing up a little harder than Joshua, struggles to find her feet in new situations, struggling to gain power and recognition where non is really needed. Friendships are harder to come by now for my girl who could be best friends with the girl she washed hands next to in the toilets. Christina has found her temper but is not quite sure how to tame it. My little girl who was always the one relied upon to settle playground fall outs and bring the enemies back into friendships is now the one who finds herself struggling to keep the friends she has.
Still compassionate though and a child in distres is a magnet to her, this now though bringing her teasing comments from those around her, she is seen as an easy target for the name calling bullies who will then see how easy she is to upset and escalate the taunts to physical pushing.

Yesterday I was embrassed to learn that she had got into a fight in calss with a child who had taunted her and sworn at her, a push retaliated with a push and hair pulled and ending with Christina with her hands around the other girls neck! Not the sort of thing I want to hear about my Daughter who professes to Love Jesus and want to remember What would Jesus do before she reacts!
How do we help her to deal with this temper that she is finding hard to contain. How do we nurture the compassion and lose the anger.
Life is not easy at home often. There is often no time to sit and talk things through. Usually I am too tired to spend much time at bed time with her.
Maybe that is where the problem lies. Finding more time to be with her and lsiten and let her know I love her too!

Oh for a few hours in the day when no one else exists!

It is hard, I do think time is needed with her. You have so much on your plate it is hard i know. I have had moments with Kennedy like this she has such a big heart and hates to see others suffer, sometimes the frustration overflows. Its hard when they dont understand why people do hurtful things, i still struggle with this.
