A blast from the past

Today we escaped!
I love everyone of my children, unconditionally and with all of my heart! BUT sometimes it gets beyond difficult to cope!
Recently the beyoind difficult has been unbearable at times and we are fortunate to have some fantastic carers who were all available this afternoon. So leaving three carers to care for our eldest two children, (Both now adults technically!) we walked out with the other three.

Our mission was to go collect the wallet David had dropped at Sherwood Visitor Centre three weeks ago! First cahnce since we discovered it had been found we had had to go fetch it. The Archery shop was also nearby and we thought if we had time we may just bob in there to get Joshua and Christina new arm guards.

So we set off, nothing exciting ahead really just to be without the constant demands of the others and do something ordinary...it felt good.

We arrived at Sherwood and found the right person and took possession of the wallet. Grateful for the return, there was a considerable amount of cash in there but more importantly were some photos of Jonathan and Rosie as tiny little ones. Irreplaceable photos and very precious.

Once signed for we took the wallet for a trip to the cafe! Unfortunately they had finished serving meals so we decided to have a drink and look for somewhere to eat after visiting the archery shop.

The weather man had promised heavy rain from midday in this area and we were very grateful that so far he had been wrong. We strolled back to the vehicle and then set off for Eakring to the Archery shop. UNloading Eve and heading into the store. Whilst looking through the arm guards with the kids both David and I became aware that someone was chatting to Eve using the other childrens names, we looked at each other then at the lady bent over Eve's chair! Realisation was slow to dawn but suddenly it came to me and I yelled out Very loudly....IT'S ANNE!

51/2 years ago our much loved carer on the Isle of Wight had left to move to France. 2 years later we left the Island but we had never forgotten her and indeed she was often in our thoughts and her name on our lips as Joshua Christinaand David becmae more interested in Archery as Anne was, and still is a keen Archer. How Amazing then , to be in that Archery store at the same time as she. We learnt that ill health had brought them back form France and now she and her hubby were retired and living back on the Island, They Always used this shop for their equipment apparantly, this was comfort to David who was then assured he had found the best place.
We spent an hour reminiscing and catching up before our rumbling stomachs took us away tofind food.

The five of us enjoyed a wonderful meal on the way home and returned back to our carers, only one left at home by then as Rosie was asleep and Debbie had recently left Iris to it.

A lovely afternoon and feeling refreshed.

Another family has been on our hearts today though. 3 years since the accident that lead to Goldie's death. Please keep Tia and the girls in your thoughts and prayers as they live this week of inevitable memories and heartache.

Think I better head to bed now.
Tina
