Holidays

Well this holiday has been good and bad and difficult and fun.

Very woriesome with Jonathan as his problems seem to have escalated so much. However between episodes he has been fun and has enjoyed some good things. Allowing him to choose when he takes part and when he is alone has helped. Having someone able to be there without being in his face has helped. Insisting he come with us didnt! Insisting he ate whilst away from the caravan was not a good idea. So days out were difficult, but having someone there who could care for him whilst we took the others out worked well.

Eve was extremely well all fortnight. At times she was very weary, but mostly she enjoyed something of every day. She loved the trains, North Norfolk has a wonderful Steam Railway and several tinmes we were able to position ourselves to see the train and she LOVED it!On Friday we found time to take Eve and Rosie on the train...Eve was asleep! We did manage to wake her enough for her to appreciate she was going on the train but she was asleep most of the journey!

All holiday Eve was perfecting her signing for Ice Cream...we bought her a tub on site and she had a couple of teaspoons most days but what she really wanted was a MR Whippy she could lick from a cone. On Thursday we went to Great Yarmouth and she eventually got her dream come true! A HUGE Mr Whippy Ice Cream! Lick, Grin, splutter, Lick Grin, Grin, Lick, Splutter, Splutter she was so Happy!

Rosie decided sleep was not on the agenda and it was Wedneasday evening befoer she deemed closing her eyes a posibility! Sarah and I were shattered! I am so grateful to Sarah though, she insisted on having Rosie with her so I could get some rest. I tried to get up and allow Sarah to get some sleep by 5.30, then at last Wednesday night she slept....it was never a good night sleep but at least ther was enough sleep to get by on. We even managed to encourage her to settle in the evening so we could watch tv or just chat. Rosie cuddled under her Duvet with us either side of her a hand on each leg! Whatever worked was fine by us!

Joshua put masses of effort into his Cycle ride. Unfortunately it was not possible to do it all with Rosie in tow as she started to climb out of the trailer, so it was short bursts with Rosie then Longer efforts without. We decide if we only counted half the miles he did without Rosie and all the miles he did with then it would amount to a similar effort. He did sacrifice his early mornings and some early evenings to putting in the miles and had achieved his 100 mile equivelant by the last Thursday.

We had heard just before we came away that a local company was making up the difference between his sponsorship and the cost of the equipment. He is so pleased and is looking forward to the Camera Coming on Wednesday. We bought the hand held device and the recording device at the RNIB shop in London so he will only be awaiting the Lap Top Which we have to sort out ordering tomorrow.
