Time Spent With Friends!

Tuesday dawned with Much excitement in our house. Kids up and dressed and raring to go before anything like a decent hour.
Carer collected, some emergency shopping acheived Turkey in the oven and Dad and Joshua off to Grantham to meet the traiin.
Christina Carer and I all set to to prepare lunch, sort Rosie, Keep Eve contented...well that was easy she was asleep!
By the time the car drew back on the drive all that remained was to swith the light on under the veg!
Hugs and chatter and excitement all round and the kids sent off in search of the Easter Eggs and surprises hidden in the front garden.
By the time they had found their treasures dinner was ready and we sat down to enjoy A Mad Hatters Tea Party!

The day mulled on with childrens running in and out and the inevitable falling out and upset of lots of children of a similar age. We tried hard to remain unruffled....then we threw them all in the hot tub to unwind and play and look after Rosie! I think Rosie's carer wished she had brought her swimming things as she was as wet as thoughs in the tub!
Later in the evening we settled kids with films Dad and Joshua with the football and friend and I in the hot tub! bliss!


Bed time was interesting! No One wanted to go to sleep...videos were watched and chatter continued and adults got louder and kids got louder still then the tiredness took over and eventually they started to settle!
UNTIL sobs were detected! One small child had lost one smaller friend! Christina's room is not big...the teddy that was lost was rather small...moving camp bed and clutter and blankets and whatever else could be concealing this tiny stuffed toy all to no avail...by this time tiredness was largher than patience and I decided we would stop looking go to sleep and look again in the daylight! Adults left closing the door to muffle the sobs...downstairs again to chat and catch up and plan some future meets!
Suddenly thudding footsteps on the stairs and a shout of glee the missing tiny friend was found!

WELL GO TO BED THEN! NIGHT NIGHT!

Eve was keeping on top of her disturbing Mummy night work and so I managed 31/2 hours before spending the rest of the night holding her twitching spasming body to me on the settee until I was joined by the 4 miscreants far tooooo early.
6 am is far to early on a holiday morning, but by now Rosie was demanding we start the morning and so we did!

We managed to be all up and dressed and essential luggage sorted and packed along with some drinks and snacks...and on our way just before 10.30am.
We were heading for Twinlakes a local tiny theme park near Melton Mowbray. We have had season tickets for the last year and they run out on 18th April so this was our last visit.
The place wqas packed and we really struggled to get our huge minibus anywhere near the entrance...thankfully David was driving not me and he manouvered into a spot just near the disabled parking and we unloaded!
Once through the hordes at the gate we were on our way and the children headed off with instructions to meet us in the labyrinth in time for lunch.

Lots of fun was had and lots of pictures taken...then we split again and met up in time to leave...friend an I set off back to the bus to change the girls whilst the others went to buy Ice creams.
By the time we got home the children were tired and wound each other up like only tired children can...I think we were all glad to climb into bed last night...a lovely gay with lovely memories and I know the niggles of tired childrren will fade while the wonderful memories live on in our hearts!

Thankfully the children...bar Eve...slept on until gone 7 this morning. Breakfast and sorting out went smoothly and then it seemed we were going to get a happy split of two and two...it lasted fairly well until the youngest was upset...and then Christina was upset because she thought she was being blamed then Joshua and other friend decided they would go off and then Christina and....well you get the drift!
We bounced through the day with periods of hapiness and fun interspersed with rivalry and upset and misunderstanding and a few shouts!
I am still certain that all of us will lose the memories of the fallouts and remember the happy time we had together!

I LOVE having friends to stay...no matter how hard work, how worried we may be about getting along nor how much the kids drive us mad...it was worth every bit of it to just spend some time often in silent companionship with a good friend!
