Ok so those are not of the Robin Hood Festival...we seem to have mislaid those, However those pictures taken outside our Lodge show Carer and Rosie Joshua and Christina in their favourite keep Rosie occupied activity...racing round the lake! We have suggested that when Rosie's carer goes back to university she could easily supplement her student funds with some Rickshaw driving!
After the weekend we were looking forward to a Special Kids meet up at Chester Zoo. Chester Zoo has some special memories for us, it was the place we took Luke to the weekend before he died, an early birthday treat as he was going to be in hospital for his actual birthday. Luke had fallen in love with the Elephants....I was looking forward to seeing elephants and chimpanzees...Luke made everyone giggle in the chimpanzee house when he shouted DADDY at the top of his voice.
It was a long 2 hour drive from Sherwood to Chestr Zoo, it was raining when we met up with everyone, and the indoor areas were rahter crowded, We not keen to allow Eve to get too wet and cold...even trying not to dwell on things we had to be sensible! Things seemed to crowd on us as we walked around the African Elephants house...the elephants were not in there, we aimed to go and see them but David became withdrawn and angry in cycles, my throat was constricting and I felt panicked, The children were ken to run on to the Elephants but David went off and I couldnt face them....we managed to meet up together again and went on a stroll as the weather improved, we aimed to the cafe for lunch but there was no room so we ate outside, we never did manage to meet up with the Special Kids bunch, we didn't really feel terribly sociable. After Lunch I did manage to go see Luke's Elephants, there were some there who had been there when we took him...it was bitter sweet! David got some photos, I can look at those with good memories....we did have a good day eventually and plan now to go back without the hangups......I hope!

We had a trip to Twinlakes at Melton Mowbray and a trip Wheelgate just down the road from the site. We missed out on White Post Farm this year and didn't even manage a visit to Rufford Country Park. We found a lovely Restaurant for Sunday Lunch the middle weekend...Christina was impressed with mine and Bs meals they arrived sizzling on a red hot metal platter! I have to say B and I were impressed tooo the meals stayed really hot despite the battle to get Rosie to eat.
The really nice thing about holidaying ion the same place for several years in a row is the staff know us and our children. We are accepted for who we are and everyone makes us feel so welcome. Joshua and Christina have a really good relationship with the man who does the Archery, he took great delight in teasing Christina for the rest of the holiday after she tried to electrocute herself on the pigs electric fence! She wasn't really hurt, and he was really concerned at the time coming rouind three times that evening to make sure she was OK....but for the rest of our stay he teased her several times a day!
We had a lovely day at the National Coal Mining Museum at Overton Yorkshire. There was a great interactive play where Christina was chosen as the daughter of th ehouse, dressed ion old Yorkshire garb and had to say Yes Mother to Aunty Mabels Questions...Rosie became "Our Doris, Eve Our Hilda and Jonathan and Joshua Alfred and Aurthur respectively!" We were rather pleased that Christina was chosen as it meant David could take pictures!

Aunty Mable showing her new family off to Maurice the Miner!On our last day the weather forceast was for really good sunshine so we decided to head to Wicksteed Park....it was fantastic! Everyone had a great time....it was a long day a long drive but very well worth while! 
Everyone enjoyed the Log Flume but I am sure Bs grin was the broadest!
All too soon we were packing for the journey home. Unfortunately the journey home was somewhat inconvenienced by David turning right instead of left out of the site driveway. We had turned left and pulled in to wait for him but he did not come back! Knowing he would get lost...almost immediately, we became concerned, tried to guess what he would have done, followed a circular route to Newark and back to the site but no sign...he had no phone and only Jonathan for advice! We headed home ion the hope he would at some point stop and phone us for help....he didn't until he had been driving for over an hour and a half...by whi9ch time he was not impressed and of course it was all my fault!
eventually he decided to buy a tom tom for himself! He arrived home nearly 2 hours after us...within an hour he was less cross and beginning to accept maybe he had a part in it too!
We are home...reality is waiting to be faced...I dont like the thought....hospital appointments loom befpore me although not quite as soon as I thought...I was sure the first was the 20th August, apparantly it's the 27th that one...we do have eyes on 22nd so all is set before us!
Tomorrow I think I best go get Joshua's school uniform! may be the only chance we get now!
Sleep......I need to reaquaint myself with the art of sleeping!
