The Season of Advent, looking forward to celebrating Jesus coming to earth. Lots of time for thinking of others, and planning for festivities....looking forward to seeing old friends returning home coming to visit etc.
Life still goes on as normal though. Appointments still to be attended, health needs still to be met...ensuring supplies are plentiful to last until well into the first week of January. Then schools have events going on and we try and split ourselves into four even pieces so as not to miss anything the children see as vital!
Today the school Christmas production at the special school Rosie and Eve attend. Last year the upper schools part was fantastic....this year it was still good, but for me did not match last years absolute brilliance! Rosie however excelled herself with cooperation...well in the bits that made it to the video and on the morning. That was good enough for me. They told the Nativity story and they had all worked really hard....had it not been for last years then it would have seemed fantastic... it was fantastic...just not quite as fantastic as last year.....did I say.....last years was perfect!
Anyway the rest of the school came out and performed and brought tears to many an adult's eye and really performed their socks off....an hillarious variation of the 12 days of Christmas....the fifth day bringing 5 D***** B****s ( the head teacher!) the adults of the class had reindeer headbands with photos of him on....I have to say from the back of the hall he had a look of Simon Cowell about him on the photo! It was really funny and you had to be there to appreciate it.
Eve's class all came in dressed in their Pyjama's to hang their stockings on the fireplace and sing some Christmas songs and say a rhyme....Eve looked like the pyjama's were a great idea and managed to smile with closed eyes but would rather have been asleep!
They finished with Twinkle Twinkle...one of Eve's favourite songs and she did open her eyes ocasionally whilst being helped to wave a glittery star on a wand and trying to sign Twinkle Twinkle little Star. Brought tears to my eyes......
The programme ended and we left to come home. Texting through to my friends C whose daughter S is still in Sheffield Hospital and Tia who is in hospital with Mog....prayers for both girls would be very appreciated. S does seem to be making slow progress and Mog is struggling with a chest infection and apparantly is very fond of the Oxygen right now...Little Fish is enjoying time with Grannie and Tia says she is happy that the girls are happy and safe. C I am sure would love to be able to escape and get back home to the rest of the family. Living in hopsital is stressful, frustrating and expencive...please pray for them all.
Back home and a visit from next door. Bearing gifts and stopping to share a coffee and a chat...first time in a long while we have had a chance to sit and chat so that was nice.
Now sat watching the Kittens getting braver...chasing each other across the lounge, hiding under the sofa and the little girl actually managing to climb the tree!
Tomorrow we must get on with clearing Rosie's room....it has become a dumping ground for anything that needs moving....now it has to be cleared and tidied and room made for a guest bed or two we have friends coming to stay on Monday....that is the day we have big appointments for Both Rosie and Eve at Nottingham! Cant even begin to get my head around thinking about the consequences of those two appointemnts so will throw myself into planing for the visit of good friends....much more pleasant!
Merry Christmas!
