A little ditty for you!

Green is the colour,
Weary is the game,

Eve fell asleep

When Craig and Barry came!

Actually she woke up quite nicely after a while and was very appreciative....although by the end of the activity her back was more red than green!

The day started with Coughs and Sneezes! Of course we all know how these spread diseases....their ability to spread slimey green facepaint may be a lesser known fact!

Ok this cleared and child settled with DVD player and Happy Feet Mum decides to go attempt to find the bed I am sure I left in the bedroom a few months ago!

The junk had to be removed from Eve's new room in order for the plasterer to plaster...where-else does one put junk but on Mum and Dad's bed?

Then the plasterer moved towards the landing and more junk moved into Mum and Dad's room...the staircase and the other landing and more junked moved! By the end of that week our room not to mention our bed was inaccessible! That was around 6 weeks ago. This week we have lots of horrid appointments a distance from home culminating in a surgical visit for Rosie that entails us being in Nottingham...at least 90 minsutes from home at 7AM....this means we have Iris virtually moving in and needing a bed...so it would be a really great idea for us to be able to sleep together in our own bed by Wednesday at the latest....as today was the least appointment filled day....all appointments begining after 3 pm then today was the day to actually start the hunt for the missing bed!

It was quite an enlightening search actually...I put away a lot of clothes that had just been piled on top of the junk out of pure laziness! This meant I found a couple of skirts and several tops I had mislaid....I also found 5 pairs of David's socks which probably accounts for his frequent cry of...I have no clean socks!

Finding a pile of Eve's bits and pieces I return to check on her and replace her Happy Feet DVD with a High School Musical one and realise the smell is probably coming from her...not outside as I first thought.....hmmmm the green slimy face paint was deffinitely preferable to the oderous green body paint that seemed to be being mass produced from the opposite end and spreading with remarkable speed throughout the interior of her PJs and the exterior of the bedding! NICE!

OK so cleaned up....twice and I think that was it! change of bedding and realise the use of a blow up Vinyl bed has it's perks....now to get back to the bed search! By middayish...I had located bed and set to stripping and remaking it! So we now have a bed ready to get into....just need to negotiate a pathway to the bed that will be feasable when awoken to an alarm induced stupour at silly o'clock!

So task almost accomplished and we decide to stop for some lunch, Eve decides she has had enough of DVD's and dozing so comes to join us downstairs...immediately falling asleep but opening an eye occasionally to ensure Daddy's wallpapering antics are full appreciated!

We were expecting a visit from the Physio and Standing Frame Rep so keeping an eye out for them David was making slow progres with the contrast paper on the Chimney Breast Wall...the paper has a black background and if you dare to touch it the black starts to come away....ooooh so glad we didnt choose this for the main part of the room!

Physio arrives and is pleased ot see Eve slightly more alert than when he came on Friday...on Friday she was not rousable even with being lifted and cuddled and stretched...today she had her eyes almost open and smiled at his attempts to sing...Well almost!

The Rep arrived a little late and the adjustments to the standing frame began...Eve was very tolerant and seemed to enjoy being a little more upright...it took a while to get the head rest sorted and we were not really sure what use she will now get out of it...but the fact she enjoyed it and it gives her a change of postition makes it worth while trialing at school at least.

Taking Eve out of the frame we discovered a very red area on the twisty part of her spine...it did slowly slowly lessen and she had been in for a longish while so we are hopeful that 15 minutes at the start of a school day may be acceptable, but we will have to be sure they keep a close eye for breakdown.

Once the physio and rep had said their goodbyes Eve was asleep in seconds, she has opeend her eyes and smiled a little since but obviously very weary! Hopefully the benefits of her pleasure at standing will be worth the pay off of how tired it makes her. We will see.

Not sure when I will blog again...if not before Wednesday will you keep us in your prayers as we go to Sheffield for Eve's metabolic appointment. So hoping to have a chance to speak to the Metabiolic Nurse in person,,,,but of course it will be a busy clinic day too so that may not happen as I would like.
