Reflection on Some Respite

So after the busy day on Wednesday with the children we spent a peacful evening with them doing homework and us relaxing in between helping them with various asoects of English and History. We had a good nights sleep before waking to another fantastic breakfast. The rooms were lovely and comfortable and the breakfast kept us going all day!

Once we hd eaten our fill we gathered togther what we needed for the day and headed once again towards the Middlebrook centre and the Reebok Stadium...here we eventually managed to park, first finding the designated carpark for the Disabled children's exhibition to be guraded by a height barrier too low to let our Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle in..then speniding a long time trying to find someone to ask wheere to park. Then we did a detour around the building trying to find the entrance to the right part of the stadium to get into the show...eventually we did find our way in and had a great couple of hours exploring the exhibition and talking through some issues we have with equipment for Rosie and Eve. A very useful morning, then a trip acros the car park to get a drink and some little presents to take to our friends in Leeds, A visit to the Toy Shop did not lead to me managing to persuade David that Rosie really did need the Dinosaur we saw yesterday however it did result in a few Christmas bits without the children realising and a very much cheaper option of a gift for Eve than the version we had seen at the exhibition!

By midday or very soon after we were on the road on our way to Leeds.

The weather had been beautiful all morning yet as we travelled along the Motorway we were confronted by this.

At this point as we looked to be about to drive under the rainbow I felt a need to share it and so I sent this photo by text message to four very special people who are often in my prayers but whose names just came to me. I sent a very simple message with it.

God is good ALL the time!

Within seconds my phone rang with one of them telling me how appropriate it was to recieve that at that precise moment, Whilst I was talking to them a text came through from soemone else who also needed to know that. A few mintues later another text from a third person also said the timing was amazing.....I havent heard from the 4th but how amazing is our God?

We arrived at our friends house with time to relax before her children finished school. David and Joshua went with Lisa to meet the girls and then friensdhips renewed they were off playing and making far too much noise. But it was good to know the friendships had survived an absence of several weeks.

We headed off to a local Chinese Restaurant to recelebrate Joshua's birthday, we managed to suitable embarass him with a cake and the whole restaurant singing happy birthday to him.

I think he was pleased though!

All too soon it was time to say goodbye again though and head back to Bolton for our last night's sleep. Then on Friday we headed back to Loughborough to collect the girls and then on home. Respite over far too quickly and yet it is good to all be together again.

Today Rosie let us know it was back to life as normal...she started the morning with a major Tonic Clonic Seizure, no warning, she had been happy as larry all morning messed around with breakfast as usual and was giggling and being totally mischievous, Then suddenly fell to the floor...thankfully one dose of rescue meds brought her out of it and although she was tearful for a while and then very quiet she did brighteen up and enjoyed a trip out to the shops.

Hey Ho! On the brioght side though Eve is still in a good spell and has spent a good amount of time awake and laughing today!

God is good all the time!
