millimeters different the mortar line is! With that assurance the brick laying recommences. By Tuesday evening there was a significant few layers of bricks...a significant amount of stressed adults too!
Wednesday dawned fair...I had my previously blogged appointemnt in Lincoln so had gone off leaving the three men in charge of the works! I came home to more frustration....the rain had seemed to only fall in our village but had obviously been significant! progress had been slow and their had been some altercation between workforce! All had been resolved by my return but David had been upset by it all...which meant I got his account of the day...however he felt they had redemmed themselves by the end of the day and there was a significant amount of wall to show for it! the aim being floor height by Thursday to lay the floor Friday!
Thursday was a glorious day, work flew on and although the day ended slightly short of plan no one could complain about lack of effort.
Friday and Eve knew she had to take control
The aim was for the base to be levelled off for the laying of the floor slab, Building inspector arranged for late afternoon, the clock was ticking.
Work progressed whilst David continued with his own project, then it became a desperate race for time and so David joined in!
Note the workers....and the Boss....the one with hands on hips!
Eve is keeping a close watch!
I was having a recouperation day and managed to keep them stocked with home made goodies, chelsea buns and outmeal and fruit cookies...lunch time brought out the bacon Sandwhiches and before we were ready the building inspector arrives...since when was half one late afternoon. Mr B immediately appo;ogised that we were not ready but she came to look anyway. Asked some wuaestions about the order of work to be done and was satisfied that all was goping well and trusted them to finish the work satisfactorily and passed it!
The floor slab gets thrown on Monday!
